CHEM11A: General Chemistry

This subject is the first of the two parts of chemistry subject designed for students enrolled in senior high school curriculum to gain some insights and understanding of the underlying principle and theories about chemistry. Students are introduced to the basic concepts of matter, its composition, structure, and properties, quantitative principles, kinetics, and energetics of transformations of matter, and fundamental concepts of organic chemistry.

The chemical knowledge acquired in this subject will prepare students to develop the ability to interpret chemical information from variety of sources, communicate their own chemical idea, acquire experimental and investigate skills and become more aware that chemistry is relevant to their daily lives, to the advancement of technology and to conservation and preservation of the environment.
